This Organic Sencha comes from the Kirishima mountain region in Kagoshima Japan.
Kagoshima in the south of Japan is known for its tea production, especially the production of organic tea, in which it is a leader. Here the soil is mineral and the active Sakurajima volcano has a strong impact on the surrounding nature.
Organic Sencha Kirishima is from tea producer Henta Seicha and the carefully selected tea leaves are from the first harvest of the year where the best leaves are found. The tea is a blend of two tea cultivars, Saemidori and Yabukita, which gives the tea a deeper and more complex flavour reminiscent of grass, seaweed and melon.
