Keemun has a relatively short history, as it was first produced in 1875. It originates from the Anhui province in central China, where it was produced for hundreds of years. green teauntil an official named Yu Quianchen returned from a trip to Fujian province where he had learnt all about black tea Production.

Keemun is the most sought-after tea in the UK and considered by many to be one of the world's finest black teas.

Description

Preparation of Keemun tea

The tea is brewed in a preheated pot

Do not boil the water for a long time, as you boil the oxygen out of the water.

Use 1 tsp. tea per cup.

Pour 95 degrees hot water over the leaves.

Pull time: 3 - 4 minutes.

As the tea leaves give best results by floating freely, you can use a spacious strainer in the preheated teapot or pour Keemun tea into a preheated teapot.

 

Tips & Tricks

If you only brew one cup/glass at a time, you can use a kopsi or "fill-your-own" tea tray, where the leaves can float freely and release the fine aroma. When using a kopsi or. "you can also brew on the leaves again.

Store in a dry and cool place.
