Chai is the name for tea in several countries. It is a centuries-old beverage that has played an important role in many cultures. Chai is a spiced milk tea in India and its popularity is growing in the rest of the world. The ingredients usually consist of: strong black tea, fat milk, a combination of different spices and sweetener.

Spices vary from region to region among households in India. The most commonly used are cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and pepper. Indian Chai produces a calming and warming effect, acts as a natural digestive and leaves a wonderful feeling of relaxation.

Chai is brewed in a preheated pot.

Do not boil the water for a long time, as you boil the oxygen out of the water.

Use 1 tsp. tea per cup.

Pour 95 degrees hot water over the leaves.

Pull time: 3 - 4 minutes.

As the tea leaves give best results by floating freely, you can use a spacious strainer in the preheated teapot or pour the tea into a preheated teapot.

Tips & Tricks

If you only brew one cup/glass at a time, you can use a kopsi or "fill-your-own" tea tray, where the leaves can float freely and release the fine aroma. When using a kopsi or. "you can also brew on the leaves again.

Store in a dry and cool place.
