This Earl Grey is milder in flavour than our classic Earl Grey teas. It has a delicate and mild bergamot flavour and a floral, almost aniseed aftertaste from the blue cornflower.
Earl Grey is named after Earl Charles Grey, who was Prime Minister under King William IV in the early 19th century. Legend has it that the Earl was given the recipe by a Chinese mandarin who was his friend and whose life he had saved.
