Black tea

Black tea
Black tea is made from the leaves of the "Camellia Sinesis" shrub. It is this tea bush that is used for both black, green and White tea. The difference between the teas is the manufacturing technique and the oxidisation process. Here, the black tea has undergone the entire oxidation process, which makes black tea stronger in both flavour and aroma. It also helps give the tea its characteristic dark or black colour, which is where the name comes from. The black tea production process has been the same for centuries, so there is a long tradition of black tea production. Often the different varieties of black tea are named after where they are grown. At Sing Tehus we have for example Black Darjeeling tea which comes from the Indian province of Darjeeling, located in the foothills of the Himalayas. Here the tea bushes grow up to 2000 metres above sea level and the black tea from here has a wonderfully sophisticated taste.

A true classic
Black tea is a true classic and comes in many different flavours, which is precisely why it is so widely available. Black tea contains more flavours than green tea, as the oxidation process changes the active components into flavours and colours in black tea. Several thousand different flavours have been recorded in black tea, which is the reason for the great diversity in the black tea category. At Sing Tehus, we sell a wide selection of black tea, and we also have several organic varieties. Among other things, we have Golden Yunnanwhich is an organic black tea with a powerful and slightly smoky malt flavour. We also have another organic black tea, Darjeeling 2.nd flush Tea with a wonderful, complex flavour that is mild, full-bodied and delicate, making it ideal for afternoon tea.
