Fukamushi Kabusecha is best brewed in a preheated small teapot, so that you can pour water on the leaves again and make fresh extracts. Fukamushi Kabusecha is served in a small cup.

Use 1 tsp. (2-3 grams) of tea per cup and pour the water over when it has cooled slightly (75-80 degrees).

Let the tea steep for 1 minute the first time. For the second brew, the tea takes ½ min and the third brew approx. 2 minutes. When serving, pour alternately between the cups to mix the contents. The tea leaves can be reused two to three times.

Description

Fukamushi is a category and can be translated as “long-term steamed”.

This means that this tea is steamed 2-3 times longer than, for example, an ordinary sencha, which produces a deeper taste.

Kabusecha is a tea that has grown in the shade for approx. one week before picking.

This causes the tea to have a sweeter and more nuanced taste. Fukamushi Kabusecha is therefore a “long-steamed shadow tea”.

Japanese green tea can be enjoyed cold, as well as hot, as these teas have a mild and fresh taste. You can also brew the cold tea in cold water, but the leaves just have to steep for a longer time.
